Becoming a Big Girl!

Image
Well it's been forever since we have posted anything here. Life sometimes takes over too quickly. This past week we were busy with work and church stuff every night. The newest news in our family is that Hannah was finally moved out of her crib and into a twin bed last night. When I asked her if she wanted a big girl bed she started to cry and said, "No Mommy, I am still a baby." The easy fix was to take her to the store and let her pick out Princess sheets and a comforter for her bed. She woke up this morning and was so excited that she had slept in her big girl (or as she says "Big girlo") bed all night. Now the real fun will come when she realizes that she can get out of bed on her own. We are hoping this will help complete the potty training process. Also this past week Dewey got his first haircut. He looks so much cuter now. I never thought I would enjoy having a dog in our house, since I never really had a dog growing up, but it has been fun. I was the one

It's no fun to have sick kids!!

We have all been sick at our house. It started Sunday morning with Parker getting the stomach flu and then Melinda got it Tuesday. Now Hannah has an awful cough, runny nose, & slight fever. It's not fun when there's so much to do and kids are sick, my whole week has kind of been put on hold & I am so sick of watching SpongeBob Square pants. Hopefully we'll feel better soon. Luckily Travis hasn't got sick yet, He thinks he is invincible, I'll let him think that. Well Janae is doing much better. This morning they were able to take her off the oxygen. She has an awful cough and lots of congestion but is doing much better. The Doctors are thinking she will be able to leave maybe tomorrow. The doctor told her not to be around fumes like nail polish remover & hairspray. That might be difficult since she works in a hair salon. Hopefully she'll be able to ease back into her busy life.

Update

Well here's the next update on Janae. She has been moved out of the ICU to a regular hospital room. She is still needing the oxygen mask to keep her oxygen levels at the minimum required. She is getting better but will probably remain in the hospital for a few more days. Thanks again for everyone's concern. Our family has truly felt the love and prayers of friends and family at this time.

Thanks for your prayers!

Thank you everyone for your prayers and your messages of concern. My sister Janae is doing better. They were able to take her off the ventilator yesterday afternoon. She is still in ICU and will probably be in the hospital at least 4 more days. She was finally able to talk yesterday and was very emotional about the situation. She said that before they put her on the ventilator she really thought she was going to die, she couldn't breathe anymore and didn't know what to do. I can't even imagine the feelings of suffocation she must have felt. So she's still in ICU but she is breathing on her own with the help of an oxygen mask. I know that all of our prayers were answered. She still has a way to go but things are looking alot better than they were Sunday. Thanks again for your prayers and concern. It's great to have friends and family you can rely on in situations like this. Thanks again!

Say a Prayer for my sister

Well this has been an emotional weekend to say the least. First of all on Friday night Travis and I took the kids down to the viewing of President Hinckley. Our total wait time from start to finish was 5 hours. I kept thinking is it really worth waiting this long but I have to say when we finally walked into the room where his body lay the spirit was so strong. It was neat because while waiting in line for so long you get to know the people you are standing by. The whole time in line everyone was talking and laughing and having a good time. The minute we got the the room he was in, without being told, everyone was quiet, even the children. You could have heard a pin drop. I thought for sure my loud children would say something but they didn't. I believe they too felt how strong the spirit was. It was an amazing experience and I'm glad we did it. Well onto the sad news, my sister Janae has had pretty severe asthma her whole life. On Sunday morning she woke up at 3:30 and
