The Funny things kids talk about.

Image
Well just yesterday I was talking to Parker who is obsessed with super heros. He wanted to know what all of the super heros names were. Of course I'm no help, so he asked Travis. He went on to tell him about 6-7 super heros names (like superman is Clark Kent, Batman is Bruce Wayne, spiderman is Peter Parker etc.) So this morning Parker wakes up earlier than usual and comes into my bedroom and wakes me up. He said, "Mom what is the Hulk's name?" I said, "I don't know Parker", he said, "we have to call Dad at work and find out." Travis wasn't available so we couldn't find out right away which made for a long morning of Parker wanting to call Travis over and over until he answered. Now we know that the Hulk's name is Dr. Bruce Banner, for anyone that was dying to know.

Riding a bike!

Image
Well Travis loves to ride his bike, in fact his bike if one of his prized possessions. We got Parker a Superman bike with training wheels 2 years ago. Parker loved it at first and the last year he hasn't wanted much to do with it (cuz he fell off one day and blamed the bike). Travis decided the other night that it was time for Parker to get over his fear and he not only said he needed to ride his bike, but he took off the training wheels and said you are old enough to ride it with just 2 wheels. Travis took Parker over to the church parking lot to start the teaching. Parker kept checking to make sure Travis was still holding on. Parker screaming once he realized that Travis had let go. Within 20 minutes Parker decided he wasn't scared anymore and took off. The next day he asked to ride his bike at home. He took off again like a natural. So far he's only skinned his elbow, (which Travis told him was cool) so now he thinks he is really grown up. Hannah enjoying her prin

Vaseline!!!

Image
Well the other night Travis and I were busy hanging blinds in our newly finished basement (finally) and the kids were in the same room as us watching TV. We turned around and this is what we saw.... I know the pictures aren't that great but Hannah had completely coated her hair with Vaseline. so much that her ponytail would stand straight up in the air. (she was crying and we couldn't get a good picture of that) I washed her hair 4 times with regular shampoo and still couldn't get it out. We then thought to use Dawn dish soap, that got a little bit more out so we put her to bed. When she woke up her hair was still so greasy, I looked on the internet for a way to get vaseline out of her hair and found out I needed to cover the greasy part of her hair (which was everything) with Corn Starch, then wash it again with Dawn dish soap. That helped alot but she still has extra shiny hair. This was one of those moments as a parent where you think, should i get mad at her? or ju

Mechling Family Camp out

Image
Well this past weekend we went camping with all of the Mechling family (except Kevin, who wasn't able to make it from CA). We went to Mantua and had lots of fun. Here's the whole gang ( my dad was taking the picture) The Mackey family in a tube. Swimming at Mantua Reservoir. Hannah on the rope swing, with the help of uncle Shane. Parker Relaxing in front of Meemaw's tent. It was my mom's 54th birthday while we were up there. It was so much fun to go camping with everyone. Family is so important to us and we love them all so much. Thanks Mechling fam for the great memories.

Swimming

Well the summer is passing so quickly. This past week Parker finished his swim lessons. He loved it. Now he thinks he can swim anywhere all by himself, which is a little scary for us. We also went camping with the whole Mechling family this past weekend. We went up to Mantua Reservoir. It was lots of fun. I'll post pic's and info later. Hope everyone is having a fun and busy summer.
