Funny things kids say

Image
A few weeks ago we were driving down the street and were at a stop light. Hannah who loves to have her window down was right next to a man in a jeep that was puffing away on a cigarette. Hannah in her very LOUD voice yells, "Mommy this man is stinky" of course he looked over at us, but I couldn't help but laugh. One of the other things that we have tried to talk to our kids about is tattoos . My siblings have tattoos and we have tried to tell our kids that they (the tattoos) are not good for our bodies and that we should not get them cause they hurt our bodies. So the other day we were waiting at the train stop for Travis to come home so we could go to Lagoon. We had 10+ minutes to wait and I started doodling with a pen on my hand. Hannah asked me to draw on her, without thinking about our conversation the previous day on Tattoos, I drew a heart on her arm. She quickly pulled her shirt down to cover it and said, "Don't worry Mom I will hide it from Jesus."

Back to school

School started the end of August & Parker was so excited to be a 1st grader. Of course some of the things he was most excited for was eating lunch at school & getting 3 recesses. Hannah & Parker posing for the back to school pics. Hannah's not too happy in this pic. Parker sitting in his desk on the 1st day. His class learning where to line up each morning & at recess. Parker has a great teacher this year. He relates well with the kids and is funny. The kids Love him. I'm excited for this year and all that he will be learning. So far Parker has enjoyed school, but did tell me that he doesn't like that he can't watch TV in the day anymore. (such a hard life).

Girls camp 2009

The last week in July I had the opportunity to go with the YW in our ward up to girls camp. We had so much fun! We went up to some our stakes property "Lyman Lake". It was a LONG drive but so remote & beautiful. There was NO cell service and we were truly "Unplugged" from the world for that week. Our whole ward on the 1st day when we were still kind of clean. (we had 13 girls and 4 leaders) The beautiful lake. (that is full of leeches. I actually had 6 of my girls that jumped into the lake. Crazy girls!!) Me with 2 of my girls. The whole ward in front of our cabin on the 2 nd to last day. We had so much fun & also left feeling the amazing spirit that is always present at girls camp. I've been in YW for almost 3 years and it is so awesome to see these girls grow into women. We made memories that will last forever. To any of them that may read this I have 5 things to say: 1. Nani Wahine 2. Mike & Ike's 3. Muddy Buddies 4. Not an adult day 5. Al
